[SOLD] Titanic Imbedded Coal/Rust/Wood Twist Pen

Absolutely one of a kind pen, and a perfect gift for any history buff!

Suspended in the body of this pen lies three actual pieces of the famous RMS Titanic.

The RMS Titanic- the pride of the White Star Line, took its maiden voyage April 14th, 1912, where it struck an iceberg and subsequently sank.

Over 1500 people lost their lives that fateful night.

The coal found in the upper portion of the pen was reclaimed from The Titanic during the 1994 Titanic Research and Recovery Expedition.

The rust found in the lower portion of the pen is from one of The Titanic’s mooring bollards and was reclaimed from the bottom of the ocean in the ship’s debris field during the same 1994 expedition. The bollard this piece came from was originally one of the 3rd class poop deck bollards, and was ejected from the stern of the ship during the sinking.

The piece of wood in the upper portion of the pen is yellow pine salvaged from The Titanic by Chief Officer James Adams during a recovery mission on board the cable ship Minia shortly after the sinking. The ships carpenter, William Parker was commissioned to create several pieces of furniture from the various pieces of wreck wood reclaimed by Adams. The piece in this pen came from a shelf in a liquor cabinet Parker made from the wheelhouse door and other salvaged wood. The cabinet was part of Steve Santini’s collection and displayed in the Orlando “Ship of Dreams” exhibit before being sold at auction in 2005.
