For fans of the macabre: this Vertex style pen and mechanical pencil set are made with wood taken from the infamous Devil’s Tree in Ft Pierce, Florida.One of the most haunted urban legend sites in Florida, the Devil’s Tree is the location of the murders of Colette Goodenough and Barbara Wilcox, by serial killer cop Gerald John Schaefer. After his arrest for the suspected murders of over 30 women, the location became claimed ground for his followers and satanic cult rituals.After years of conflict over the tree, the city decided to have it removed. The men came and both chainsaws snapped. Upon leaving to replace them, both men were killed in a car accident. It is said that the driver had a piece of bark in his pocket.Since the late 70’s, the site has been known for sightings, voices, apparitions, exorcisms, hooded figures, and other freak accidents. It was recently adapted into a movie and several graphic novels.The Vertex style pen and mechanical pencil are both fitted with gold hardware.
